Ruth D. Hunt honored with the
Inaugural Diaspora Award

In light of the 150th Anniversary of the Civil War, the legacy and memory of the United States Colored Troops were honored as well as those that presently fight to uncover those roots. Host Cheryl Willis presented the first ever "Champion of the African Diaspora Awards" to Ruth D. Hunt and Julius and Joyetta Pearse for their assiduous determination and work in genealogy, "reconnecting bloodlines with our heroic past".
